After an accident in the theater leaves playwright Mindy Pfeffer unable to walk, she makes the unexpected decision to sign up for a triathlon after recovering. Despite having no athletic background, Mindy is drawn into the world of athletic training and embarks on a new and exciting adventure. There's Iron in Your Future follow's Mindy's unplanned life journey as she prepares to push herself to the limit and awaken her "inner athlete".

Run time: approx. 55 minutes with no intermission.

Cast and Crew Bios:


Mindy Pfeffer (Playwright / Performer) is thrilled to combine her two passions (obsessions) – theatre and triathlon – with this work. It has previously been seen at the IRT Theater and the Estrogenius Sola Voce Festival in NYC and the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival, PortFringe in Portland, Maine, and IndyFringe in Indianapolis. Mindy has appeared in over 60 plays at theaters including the Kennedy Center, Ping Chong and Company, La MaMa, and the Peterborough Players. Favorite roles include Dabby in Our Country’s Good, Ma Joad in The Grapes of Wrath, and Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her full-length plays include Swimming with Esther (Woodstock Fringe “First Looks” series) and Dream Land (presented on the Coney Island Boardwalk!), and her short plays have been seen at numerous NYC theatres. Her first one-person play Men I Never Dated received a NYSCA Grant for New Work. Mindy is currently Executive Director and teaching artist for NYC Kids Project, an arts-in-education company using puppetry and theatre to teach empathy and inclusion. www.nyckidsproject.org She has trained with the SITI Company and holds a BFA in theatre from Syracuse University. Peter Michael Marino (Director) is an award-winning solo show teacher, director, producer and performer. He’s the creator of SOLOCOM, which has launched over 500 world-premiere solo comedies at The People’s Improv Theater. Solo show directing credits include: Amy Marcs’ long-running Nice T*ts, Mark Demayo’s 20 & Out, Mark Giordano’s Mad Man, and dozens more. His long-running solo comedy Desperately Seeking the Exit (which chronicled the unmaking of his West End musical flop Desperately Seeking Susan) received 5-star reviews around the world, and a London transfer. His current solo shows, Show Up, and Show Up, Kids! are currently touring from the USA to Edinburgh. Pete’s production company PM2 Entertainment, has recently presented trumpcon: A Performance Festival of Yuge Proportions at The Kraine, The Unofficial Upper East Side EdFest at Ryan’s Daughter, David Mills: Shame!, Jason Kravits’ Off the Top!, and the acclaimed solo show hit David Carl’s Celebrity One-Man Hamlet. www.petermichaelmarino.com
